Adventa Control Technologies, Inc.
announces its association with Barna Consulting LLC for effective, efficient development of ARTIST models

May 1, 2008, Plano, TX: Adventa Control Technologies, Inc. (ACT) announces its association with Barna Consulting LLC and its founder Dr. Gabriel (Gabe) Barna. Dr. Barna’s work contributed to the development of the ACT fault detection system, ARTIST. Dr. Barna has been working in the semiconductor industry and advanced process control field for over twenty years. While working at Texas Instruments, Dr. Gabe Barna was named a TI Fellow, a distinguished title selected by top management at Texas Instruments based on his contributions to the company’s technical success and intellectual property portfolio. Highlights of Dr. Barna’s career include implementing advanced process control solutions in some of TI’s most advanced fabs, managing the SEMATECH J-88E program focused on establishing multivariate fault detection for semiconductor processing, and generating sixteen issued patents.

Dr. Barna has vast experience in all areas of semiconductor processing, with an emphasis on Plasma Etch and Deposition and Cu Plating. Because of his in-depth semiconductor domain expertise and intimate knowledge of ARTIST, he can help customers quickly implement fault detection projects across all process areas. He is proficient in creating univariate and multivariate models with the latest version of ARTIST (3.0). Dr. Barna is available as a consultant to help customers add to their inventory of ARTIST models.

The ARTIST tool monitoring and fault detection application is used on virtually all process tool types in semiconductor manufacturing factories. Engineers develop human-readable custom models based on actual tool data and engineer experience. When a model detects an emerging condition, it can draw on a range of actions from simple notification to stopping tools prior to generating scrap wafers. ARTIST also detects problems early to predict maintenance needs and prevent equipment damage.

Adventa Control Technologies, Inc. (ACT) provides control and productivity software to semiconductor OEM's and semiconductor manufacturing facilities. For over 10 years, ACT systems have proven themselves in the demanding world of 24/7 production on thousands of tools worldwide.
