Plano, TX
October 2005: Adventa continues to move
ControlWORKS forward with new features and functionality.
ControlWORKS, the most widely used commercial machine control
software in the semiconductor industry, once again moves forward with more
features and functionality to satisfy the most stringent requirements for
semiconductor processing. Over the last twelve years, semiconductor
equipment OEM’s worldwide have used ControlWORKS to manage productions tools
for exposure, etch, deposition, annealing, and CMP processes for the
manufacture of semiconductor and MEMS devices.
“The OEM equipment market is getting more competitive every
year,” said a representative for Adventa Control Technologies, Inc. “Customer
demands for state-of-the-art tools, short delivery cycles, high equipment
utilization, and worldwide 24/7 customer support really tax the equipment
and process control engineers at OEM companies. These engineers are
stretched to the point that they rarely have time to develop new control
functionality and meet the ever-changing SEMI standards for machine control
and communication to factory control systems. This is where Adventa adds a
lot of value. While our customers are busy building and shipping new process
tools, we work in the background to deliver the new functionality that their
customers, the IDM’s, require. We commit the resources to meet SEMI
standards and work closely with Sematech to make sure that ControlWORKS
delivers the equipment and process data necessary to enable and support
Advanced Process Control in production fabs. Our customers just don’t have
the time and resources to make that investment so we do that for them."
Here's a sample of what ControlWORKS 4.2 has to offer:
-
SEMI E116, Equipment Performance Tracking (EPT).
-
MultiGEM. This feature gives the equipment multiple
GEM connections to factory applications, each independent of the other.
-
SECSLog. This component logs all SECS-II message
traffic between the equipment and the primary GEM host. A new UI screen
allows the operator to view the log.
-
Automated Maintenance Scheduling (AMS). This is a new
feature in which process module maintenance operations may be defined as
jobs run by the scheduler.
ControlWORKS 4.3 with have more exciting features and enhancements to the 300mm
standards, Interface A, and introductory pieces of Interface B. Like the
semiconductor industry, product development never stops at Adventa Control
Technologies, Inc.
